Colder weather will start and finish the week Cold fronts bookend this shortened workweek with typical early September weather squeezed in the middle.
We start with a cold front and storms on Tuesday, followed by slightly cooler weather for the middle of the week. When temperatures begin to climb later in the week, another cold front arrives Friday to bring another chance of wet weather all cooler air for the weekend.
Rain and storms move into the Sault area Monday morning and exit this afternoon as daytime highs reach 20°C. Some of the storms could be severe with damaging winds later this afternoon – the area at greatest risk will be well east of the city towards Manitoulin and the North Shore. We should see some brief sun this evening with west winds overnight.
Gusty northwest winds arrive Wednesday with scattered showers and cooler temperatures near 18°C. The wet weather should end on Thursday under partly cloudy skies and daytime highs of 19°C.
Warmer air returns to the region on Thursday as temperatures climb back into the low 20s under mostly sunny skies. Another cold front arrives on Friday to bring scattered showers and storms, followed by cooler northwest winds to start the weekend.
