Mayor Suthers and PRCA kick off 100 Days to Inaugural NFR- Mean National Finals Rodeo Open 2022 at Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Discharge) – The 100 days out commencement to the debut Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo | NFR Open started off Monday morning in midtown Colorado Springs with PRCA CEO Tom Glause giving Mayor John Suthers a dark Resistol® Texas style cap.

The debut NFR Open fueled by RAM, coming to the Norris Penrose Event Center July 13-16, will be perhaps the greatest rodeo of the 2022 ProRodeo season with $1 million in payouts to candidates, animals and other PRCA individuals.

“(April 4) marks 100 days out from the debut Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo | NFR Open and in the interest of the PRCA, I might want to thank you for energetically inviting the NFR Open to Colorado Springs. This is our old neighborhood, and we are glad to have the Open here,” said Glause.

“We realize it will be an incredible rodeo and we’re anticipating inviting the best in the game to Olympic City USA. The game of rodeo has a spot in Colorado Springs history and keeps on having a spot in our city’s future,” Mayor Suthers said. Of note, Mayor Suthers’ dad, William Suthers, was a sanction individual from the Pikes Peak Range Riders. The Range Riders association was framed to pitch and elevate the rodeo and to produce interest in Colorado Springs’ western legacy.

In excess of 200 contenders from every one of the 12 U.S. Circuits (in addition to Canada) will contend in without any protection riding, steer wrestling, group roping, saddle bronc riding, breakaway roping, secure roping, barrel hustling and bull riding, finishing with an elimination rounds and finals on Saturday, July 16 when the public circuit champions will be delegated.
